SEE connects with other Science Centers

Start here

By Adele Maurier, Design Coordinator

I have just returned from the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) annual conference.  It was a privilege to represent SEE at this important event for our field in Albuquerque NM.  More than 1,600 attendees representing 42 countries and all 50 states were at the conference.  At the conference I made connections, went to sessions to learn the latest ideas and practices in the field, and learned about new exhibits and programs.  I also had the opportunity to visit 3 great ASTC member organizations, which any of our members can also visit with their membership because SEE is a proud member of the ASTC Passport reciprocal membership program.

Among the many take-a-ways I brought to share with SEE, I return with a strong sense that all ASTC member centers are unique and have a creative approach to engage their communities.  Also all members share a common passion for informal science education and its extremely important role in our world.  The ASTC community is working as a whole to advance and meet the needs of 21st century learners.  SEE is your science center, so please take advantage of what we offer and let us know how we can better meet your needs.  Local community feedback is important to us!
